I've been a professional visual designer, video editor, motion graphic designer, web designer and storyteller since 2003.
Crafting stories for brands is what I do best, regardless of the technology or trends -- I've worked through them all.
I will continue to thrive because my core principles as a creative don't rely only on chasing what's hot at the moment, it's about connecting with consumers evergreen needs and doing what is right for the brand.
DESIGN AND ANIMATION FOR FOOD BRANDS
I started video editing in the late 90's in high school using a VHS deck-to-deck machine. A few years later I was introduced to Adobe After Effects (v 4.1) ...

In the last decade, the push for video content on the web has been a big change on the web. I have supported food brands with hundreds of videos, in all styles and lengths. I work through the formats as they changed from traditional aspect ratios, to square video, and into vertical reels and stories.
My role in content production for brands currently involves a lot of motion graphic design and editing. With no video professionals on my team, I receive video shot by influencers and craft it into supplementary content for our sites and for our social media streams. I also creating a lot of motion graphic content for video ads.
WEBSITES I'VE DESIGNED AND BUILT
I self-taught web coding during my senior year at university. Combining art and code in the mid 2000's provided a lot of opportunity ...

I started with HTML and CSS, and then progressed to PHP and MySQL databases. My first job after graduation was as a front end developer on an e-commerce site selling printer ink. I built and maintained a successful site, and was given a lot of time to learn additional web development skills. I started creating HTML emails, working with variable data to create visually appealing content that was personalized to each customer.
After I joined the advertising agency in 2010, I was asked to build and maintain CMS sites, primarily WordPress and Ruby on Rails frameworks. As the smartphone because to take over, I built very early mobile sites using responsive jQuery libraries. In the 2010's, the skills of web developers and designers began to diverge. My role as a creative art director required quick results, so I have focused on building beautiful sites using Wix.
PRINT DESIGN FOR FOOD BRANDS
Over the course of 20 years I've gotten to create a lot of advertising made with ink.

My first professional print work was in done as an internal designer with the telecommunications department at the University. I created ads for the university publications and displays around campus. I even got to make ads for the Yellow Pages.
My time as an art director on food brands had me creating a variety of advertising and packaging. I have done vehicle wraps and billboards all the way down to to 1" fruit stickers and every scale in between. I've worked on cookbooks, tradeshow booths, plenty of in-store displays.
